Intermission: The First Round of Review Starts Now

The camping area during the evening. Kaju Nukumizu’s head peeked out from behind the storage facility. She’s safeguarding her brother, who’s walking with a plastic bag from a supermarket in his hand.
There’s…a girl next to her brother. The two of them seem to be chatting as they move.
“Onii-sama, …you’ve finally done it. …You’ve finally made a friend.”
Kaju is touched. She wiped the corner of her eyes with a handkerchief.
No, now’s not the time to thank the gods. She’s a girl. A little sister’s responsibility is to review whether the girl suits her brother. Kaju took out a notebook from the pocket of her uniform. She slightly licked the tip of the pencil.
…First of all, appearance. A plain and unicolored T-shirt above, and a pair of jeans below. Casual and relaxed. Even so, her briefly showing her side profile from time to time is enough for Kaju to judge that she’s an attractive cutie. At the same time, in sharp contrast to Kaju, she has a very popular figure in the eyes of the boys.
A double circle mark appeared next to “Appearance” and “Figure” to get things started.
That girl seems to be chewing something. At the same time, she’s flailing her limbs around as she talks to her brother.
(…I wonder what they are talking about. Don’t tell me they are…flirting?)
Ahh, onii-sama is finally at the stage where he can flirt with girls-
Now, there must be haste. Safeguarding is no longer feasible. Kaju decided to close the distance between her and them until she could hear their conversation. It’s definitely not because of curiosity. Instead, a little sister must know how her brother’s friend conducts herself.
Kaju closed in. At this point, the girl’s cheerful tone resonated throughout Kaju’s ears.
“Nukumizu-kun, I was thinking about this when we were at the beach. Aren’t you too thin? You should eat more, you know?”
The girl took a green object out of her pocket and took a bite. The sound is clean.
“Even so, I don’t think it’s normal to eat green peppers like snacks.”
“That’s not true. You can eat green peppers raw.”
…Snacks? After hearing her brother’s words, Kaju stared at the girl’s hand.
Kaju thought she was eating snacks, but that was raw green pepper, and she was just eating it.
“Won’t the inner part of the green pepper taste bitter?”
“I think it changes the taste to something better. Also, my family always eats the entire green pepper.”
Kaju thought for a moment and jotted “Loves vegetables” in her notebook.
Loving vegetables isn’t a bad thing at all. Nutritional science is mandatory if she has to entrust her brother’s health management to the girl.
(I have to make her remember the recipes of the Nukumizu family. …Let’s start with miso soup.)
Her brother likes Haccho miso with skipjack tuna broth with tofu and oily fried tofu as sides-
“Wait, Yanami-san. You can’t eat up all of the green peppers!”
Her brother said that anxiously and robbed the bag of green peppers from the girl.
“Uwah! There’s only one left!”
“Just one is enough, right? Everyone hates green peppers, anyway.”
“I like it, alright? Ah, but I don’t mean I’ll eat carrots raw.”
“I’m not a horse, you know? I won’t eat raw carrots, no matter what.”
It looks like…they aren’t flirting.
Kaju distanced herself from the two silently and hid behind a pile of firewood. After that, she jotted a big X next to “In a relationship”. She closed the notebook in satisfaction.
“…Indeed, onii-sama still needs Kaju, after all.”
