Genocide Reality Takedown

Rockgollem:
So, as the title implies, the raw source had been taken down.

The issue arises from an unauthorized 3rd party website uploading his work. In the country the raw provider is from, there can be serious legal and/or financial issue arising for him while the party that uploaded his work without authorization can avoid possible repercussions.

This is not an isolated incident and the said 3rd party site has been the target of ire for many translators and raw providers. The latest set of incidence has resulted in loose coalition of response by many translators and raw providers including the one for Genocide Reality.

Subsequently, he took down his own work and the site to avoid possible problems. While it is unfortunate, this would mean no more Genocide Reality for us as well.

Our efforts will be re-directed to further polishing and fuelling other on-going projects on the site.

Skythewood:
Although Genocide Reality is a Japanese Webnovel, we are dependent on the Jap-Korean translators in order to provide an accurate translation. The Jap raw is only used as reference. Technically, it is possible to just Machine Translate the Jap source, but that’s not the way we do things here. Genocide Reality will be dropped for now.

Shadowsky.exe:
As soon as i read this this was my literal reaction. Its sad, I didn’t even think this will happen. As one of the members on the team this was quite a loss for us.

    1. And thus Shogo entered the second floor. At first, all seemed to be going well, when suddenly he noticed something was off. The floor was quiet, too quiet. Suddenly, he found himself facing the greatest monster Genocide Reality has ever seen, the dreaded Deranged Minotaur Crow Abomination, DMCA! Two feathered wings, blacker than the darkest pitch, so tall that its bull-like horns scraped the ceiling, a crow's face with rapier-sharp beak, and beady, intelligent eyes. A muscular physique that would put even the most professional bodybuilder to shame with the legs ending in crow-like feet with razor sharp claws. In all his time playing the game, and preparing the walkthrough, Shogo found one and only one way of surviving an encounter with this beast, run, hide and pray to whatever god(s) you believe in that it finds someone else to torment, but now Shogo is alone. He wishes someone, anyone were here to use as a distraction, but foolishly, he set off dungeon diving alone. Even that virgin whore would be welcome right now. DMCA is all but immune to even the highest spells and skills, shrugs off all damage from normal weapons, has infinite stamina, and will relentlessly hunt its prey to the death. With a mighty "CAW" the dungeon floor and wall shake as if in a mighty earthquake, the floor stairs heading upward collapse right behind Shogo, leaving him unable to retreat and flee to the town. Instead he slides between its legs fleeing down the corridor hoping to lure it into traps like he did with the Orc boss. DMCA pursues, and smashes through the traps with ease, nearly cornering Shogo several times, but Shogo's stamina potions begin to run out, corner after corner, door after door, he runs, hoping to find some place to hide, but DMCA has caught his scent, and will not stop, smashing through door and wall alike in relentless pursuit. It grabs at him, kicks at him, tries to gore him with its horns or buffet him with its poison laced feathers, just missing by inches, but it gets harder and harder to evade with each attack. Finally, Shogo makes it to the third floor stairs to face two mustard dragons, but DMCA obliterates them both with a single blow, trying to avoid the poison, Shogo steps too close and is caught. DMCA loves nothing more than slowly feasting on main characters and hearing their anguished screams of pain. Starting at the feet, its horrific beak rips apart his shoes and crunches his bones like salteen crackers, Crunch, Crunch. Shogo screams in agony, kicks, flails, punches and cuts with his sword to no avail. Kept alive by its hideous magic, Shogo is completely helpless in its grip as it eats its way upward, finally reaching his head. Despite no longer having lungs, throat or voicebox, Shogo is magically compelled to scream in pain as DMCA holds his head in its hands. Finally it all ends with a quick peck through his eye, to suck out his brain, leaving his now fleshless skull as a warning to all who would dare to read the story without paying tribute to its mighty god the Yen Depressed, and seeking the favor to maybe, one day, publish a single chapter... THE END!

    1. Yeah, thank you all work your hard work. But there is nothing one can do...

There are so many great novels which are on hiatus (I am thinking at Rakuin no Monshou which takes forever to be translated since it is difficult - still thankful for their work but man I want to read the remaining 8 books... wish they would get help or cooperate with someone). Same story different novel: Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica, Tsurugi no Joou to Rakuin no Ko (did they drop it? last update was over 780 days ago), etc.

Well I hope you find a new story you also enjoy reading/translating!

  22. jashin tensei was considered last time its has a lot of good point and could be great

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yeah, I'd love to see Jashin Tensei translated. Not only is both the plot and characters great but each chapter is also short so it wouldn't be too much work for the translators when they have to translate a chapter. re: Translations translated the first twelve chapters but just gave up on it after that. I guess that's what happens when a group takes up too many projects at once.

  25. Well, its quite sad but s..t hapens :). Thank you for translation of this project until now. I hope you can start another fun series. I could recommend Isekai Mahou ha Okureteru. Its good novel with very intelligent and cunning protagonist.Hes a mage (true mage btw, hes magic rely on quite a nice and complex real science from ancient times) who get summon to another world where his magic is superior (imagine a mage from Nasuverse (Kara No Kyoukai, Fate/stay Night etc) against typical fantasy magic which isnt even that powerfull:)). I think this project has stopped on chapter 24 and for a looong time there wasnt any update on his blog.

Another great possibility is if you would start translating Tower Of Karma :D.

But decision is yours. Whatever you would start, I still will be gratefull :).

  26. If you have nothing to translate now, how about translating Seiken Tsukai no World Break. That translation has been stalled for forever on Baka- Tsuki. Although a lot of people degrade it as just another harem novel, it really has a lot of potential. Furthermore there are at least 3-4 books that come out each year so there is a lot to translate for the readers. I think you guys should give it a shot. Plus the anime is already out and no one had licensed it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'd also like it if the guys at Skythewood could translate Seiken Tsukai World Break. Not only does it have Harem, it also has reincarnation, magic and swordsmanship. Plus the anime was awesome and I'd like to see what the novel is like. Also you're wrong in that last year, 6 books for the series were released. So I agree that there would be plenty of material for the translaters. Plus it works since with Overlord and Genocide gone, their is basically nothing for the Saturday slot.

    2. +1 for World Break!

Now, it's time for Youjo Senki!!

  56. It's too bad that the korean raw for GR was taken offline due to the aggregator site reselling the translation and thus increasing the legal exposure to the translator. I went to the japanese author's officially publicly released version and used several different machine translators to get an idea of what is going on. It seems the story keeps on improving after the slow start and there is a lot more intrigue too. The author just had to develop the environment enough and have the characters level a bit out of the total newbie stage in order to avoid having a story just about newbies.

    Author's official public Webnovel:
