Lonely Attack on the Different World V1 (2 of 8)

🞛 I Will Be Sneaky Tomorrow Too!

Day 4 Cave

Wake up~ eat breakfast~ Explore~ I moved upstream through the forest. I’m not hyped up, and am a little down instead. I want to eat something other than mushrooms. I’m not asking for anything luxurious like rice or ramen, just anything but mushrooms.

Not daring to venture deep into the forest right from the start, I head out from the river. There’s a bountiful harvest of mushrooms as usual, but nothing other than that. It appeared, there’s more of them upstream, but they are weak though.

My Sense Presence detected two Goblin, Lv12 and 11. With 『Movement Lv1』 and 『Mana Wrap』, I swiftly attacked Goblin A. I got him in one hit, but 『Movement Lv1』 is too fast! I collided with the enemy with no control over my body. That is really a 「Wooooaaaahhhh」 moment.

Goblin A and I rolled towards Goblin B and spooked him. It spooked me too! Reinforcing my stick with 『Mana Wrap』, I dodge an attack and whack Goblin B from the back. The process is dubious, but I defeated the enemy in two moves.

This move is effective. It might be a placebo, but homebrew medicine works for those who believe. I only have mushrooms though.

I continue to explore the forest depths. There is plenty of food, but they are all mushrooms… Another Goblin encounter, three of them this time, Lv 14, 11 and 10. I used 『Movement』 and 『Mana Wrap』 for a swift attack that took out Goblin A in one blow. I’m a little disoriented after using Movement, but I just have to pull away. I then launch a quick attack on Goblin B… Oh no! I got counterattacked. I can’t dodge while using Movement, and will move in a straight line. In the meantime, Goblin C joined the fray. Dodge, Movement, dodge again, I’m engaged in a chaotic fight.

My arm got hurt, but I managed to take out my opponent safely. Movement is a great help when it works, but will put you at a disadvantage when you are not careful, a double edged sword… No, my weapon is a stick.

I then spend some time practicing 『Movement』, and will try it in a live battle when I detect an enemy. 『Mana Wrap』 can be activated unconsciously now, but my 『Movement』 is still terrible. I will keep the fact I fell down twice a secret. And I didn’t cry.

I got hurt more badly than I expected and quickly returned to the Cave. My injuries came from running into clubs, colliding with Goblins and falling down. This is self destructing. Not a self destruct attack, just destructing by myself for no reason. The last Goblin took a lot of work, but I didn’t see his level. I took his bangle, just like what the bad guy does! Am I a thief, a bandit, or just jobless… I had a late lunch in the Cave, don’t ask me what I ate.

I checked my Status just to be sure, and my level did increase. My InT rose to 40 and the other stats are between 35 and 40. My numbers are much stronger than a Goblin. But I don’t understand why the last one on one fight was so tough. By the way, he was wearing a bangle, so I appraised it.

『Monster’s bangle PoW+1%: 【Increase strength】』

It’s just a 1% increase in power, but that’s better than nothing. I’m not a monster, but I still put it on.

It’s almost evening and I have recovered my stamina, so let’s take a walk by the river before it gets dark. I will check my Status in detail at night. There aren’t many Goblins there and they are all pushovers, but I sense something other than Goblins upstream. I concealed myself after entering the forest, moving silently and swiftly in a relaxed manner.

Using Farsight, I see… people, six guys. I walk closer and discover that they are my classmates, and the troublesome ones at that. They are the delinquent from gangs, the gang part is just a lie, so they are just a group of people making trouble. Just naughty kids bullying the docile nerds.

I appraised them while keeping myself hidden. Maybe I’m too far away, so I can only see their Levels and Jobs. Great Swordsman, Dual swordsman, Fire mage, level 11, 3 and 2. The differences in levels are too wide!

I decided to hide and observe, getting closer to eavesdrop on them as they chatted by the river. They are just chatting idly though, about the girls and lewd stuff. Twenty of the forty two students are girls, and the nerds hogging the spotlight irked them. After all, the nerds understand Skills and transporting to a Different world the best. And the group of five stubborn bitches seemed to be on bad terms with the other girls.

The gang of six bullies are always up to no good, and are scheming now too. The Lv11 Great Swordsman is Katsuyama, the boss of the gang, and he is graphically describing what he will do to the girls. As for the person who taught these 6 guys who are clueless about the Different world about Skills… His name is Tanaka.

They are planning to attack the girls, but the class Monitress is there, and she can see through and defeat their schemes. After all, the Monitress has been dealing with problem children and delinquents since grade school.

Hmm? The six naughty kids are chatting and didn’t notice me… Is there someone else? I shifted further away to watch them, but didn’t see anybody aside from the six of them, and didn’t sense anyone either. I don’t know the details, but there’s no need to get involved with them, so I’m going back.

Anyway, I learned that all my classmates are upstream, and it will be a pain to link up with them. The relationships there are murky, and I hope it won’t pollute downstream and dirty the environment of a Shut-in like me.

Let’s head back to the Cave before it gets dark. I defeated two Goblins on the way back, and can’t feel the effect of the +1% bangle at all. But my concealment ability has improved, and I can sneak behind the enemy easily now. This is a useful move, I will practice it more from now on. I ran into a rabbit when I was sneaking around, the first time I encountered an animal. Maybe I can’t find one if I don’t mask my presence. I found a shimeji mushroom-like thing, and had a proper dinner for the first time in a while. Thank you for the meal. How long has it been since I last ate meat? I also ate mushroom, but it’s fine since it’s a side dish. The mushroom has been stealing the main act too much, and even put on one-man shows!

What do I do with the small rabbit pelt, sell it? I will need to hunt hundreds of them, that’s too tall a task.

I started practicing magic at night, maybe it will be more adequate to call it home improvement? I tried all sorts of things to modify my residence. Like using Package on the ground to pull, extend, solidify and sculpt it. This is fun…! I got engrossed in it all night.

My Shut-in and Loner leveled up, because I didn’t talk to my classmates? Or because I had so much fun by myself in my room? I worked so hard, and will definitely cry if my NEET levels up. These titles are really depressing.

Earth Magic? Oh~ so molding the ground in the Cave is considered Earth Magic? Grilling mushrooms is Fire Magic, molding the Cave is Earth Magic, is it fine for the Different World to be so slipshort?

Thankfully, I have been sneaking around, so the Hide Presence and Covert Skills are great. I can assassinate Goblins with them, and become an Assassin, but I can’t get a Job though. Let’s sneak around and level up tomorrow too.

How should I put this, the Different world has been boring so far without any incident or drama. At the very least, the characters in the stories won’t say things like 「Let’s sneak around tomorrow.」

But I will still sneak around though. I certainly will.

🞛 I don’t want to visit a town that needs loads of clubs

Day 5 Cave

The other day, I met a Goblin. Up in the mushroom woods, A way up there. And I killed it.
<TL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8_wzixhPAs>

No, I’m serious, I’m walking in the forest foraging for food, and it’s mushroom, mushroom, Goblin, mushroom, mushroom, Goblin, mushroom, Goblin, Goblin, Goblin, Goblin… annoying! I appraise everything and the edible food is just mushroom, herbs, and Goblin, Goblin, Goblin. No, Goblins aren’t edible.

Rabbits are a treat, but I don’t have ranged weapons or magic attacks. I can only Hide my presence, activate Covert and quietly pounce on it. Hide Presence and Covert are useful, all the Skills that old man gave me can’t even compare to them. So it’s fine to not visit the white room, right? What’s the point in that old man? If I see him again, I will make him kneel and lecture him for an hour.

「Mushroom, mushroom, oh, a Goblin.」(Whack!)

I have gotten used to Goblins, what should I do if I grow close to them? Kill them of course.

They are dense, and won’t detect me if I use Hide Presence and Covert. They can’t react immediately if I use sneak attacks either, and will always raise their clubs high first.

Simply put, I just keep repeating sneak attacks to kill them. Things will get hairy if I stop and fight them. I keep sneak attacking, picking mushrooms and occasionally collecting herbs. As for the naughty kids, no thank you. There aren’t many Goblins around the Cave, and they are all around Level 10 to 15. I will need to charge in to attack in order to take out a level 15.

There are many Goblins in the forest, but they are just mobs around level 10. Just a side dish to the main task of picking mushrooms, although they aren’t edible.

I can hear birds caw from time to time, how about roasting some birds? But I can only stare hungrily since I don’t have any means of range attacks, and just happens to find edible fruits.

The Contact lenses are amazing, after improving my vision, I can see in the dark, far away, and find small things easily. Having good eyes are important, if they exist in my old world, I would definitely have worn them. I wonder if it can cure the glare in my eyes?

I immediately climb up the tree, pick a berry and toss it into my mouth… Hmm, it’s really sweet with a hint of sourness, but it’s been so long since I ate something sweet. I don’t particularly like sweets, but since this is something that’s hard to come by in the Different world, it's nostalgic and very tasty. The berries are small and there aren’t many of them, so I pick everyone that I can find. I hope my belly won’t bulge.

After that is mushroom, Goblin, mushroom, Goblin, mushroom, Goblin, Goblin, mushroom, mushroom, Goblin… Enough already! There’s a kid crying here. It’s me.

I killed plenty of Goblins but my level didn’t go up. My Item Bag is filled with clubs, can I sell them in town? But I don’t want to visit a town that needs loads of clubs.

No good, I’m losing focus, I will make a mistake in this state, and a club hitting me in the head will kill me. Let’s go back, I can barely use Movement, it will be bad if I can’t concentrate! I might fall over or die from clubbing.

「Let’s go home. It’s a Cave, but it’s still home.」

I head back in the direction I came from, mushroom, mushroom, Goblin, mushroom, mushroom, Goblin, mushroom, enough, I will study mushroom dishes! Although I only have salt.

It’s so relaxing to be home, is that the effect of Shut-in? Will I gradually dislike going out?

In the lightnovels, I can increase my maximum MP by depleting it completely, and this will serve as magic practice too. I focus my magic to heat up the mushroom and dry them.

「I have lots of dried mushroom, let’s make a slab to grill the mushroom with Earth Magic next time.」

I continue to refurbish my room and turn in after depleting my mana. Maybe it’s because I used up my Mana before sleeping, the quality of my sleep has been great in this world. I suddenly thought about the reason why I got summoned to this world.

I have been summoned to a forest of mushroom and Goblins, am I supposed to defend the world from them? Will my life in the Different world end with just mushrooms and Goblins? Sigh, I feel that I will even dream about mushrooms and Goblins, I should just sleep.

Isn’t the forest a treasure cove of ingredients? Why does this treasure cove only have mushrooms? Is this a queer forest? Where do I need to go to find other food? Or should I move away? But this place is growing on me, even though there’s only mushrooms here.

What a bother. The amount of mushrooms is enough to last me for a long while. I’m on the expressway to being a Shut-in, and not far from being a NEET too. As for a Loner… I have always been one.

🞛 It Feels Like I Will Be Forced to Reveal Some Stuff

Day 6 Cave

Anyway, I tidy up my home, although it’s a Cave.

Anyway, I did maintenance on my weapon, although I’m just rubbing my stick.

Anyway, I’m taking care of my armour, although I’m just doing laundry.

I chew on my late breakfast. I feel unmotivated, just eating grilled mushrooms everyday, fighting Goblins everyday, even my dreams are about mushrooms and Goblins. Is this love? Not!

My level is stuck at 3, probably because of Master of None and Blockhead, which says that leveling will be harder.

If I practice Skills without understanding it, that will just be meaningless and a bother. But I should get some benefits if I do well. 『Master of None』 means you can do everything well, not you can’t focus and master one single thing. In that sense, that probably means I can get Skills easily.

The problem is 『Blockhead』. ①A puppet or a stringed puppet. ②Someone who is useless or inconsiderate. ③Follow instructions mindlessly.

No matter what, it’s all adverse effects. My only hope is to raise my status and check it with Appraise, but that didn’t level up.

There’s also 『Report-Inform-Consult』 that seems harmless, the effect is 「become proficient in reporting, informing and consulting」, which is useless for a Loner like me. There’s no point in worrying about things I don’t understand, but Health and Calisthenics are definitely useful, I did Radio Calisthenics before going out to hunt today. Still no Goblins by the river, don’t they need to drink water? The place I have been to would be shown on the 『Map』 Skill which I got without realizing it, so I just need to keep wandering about. To be safe, I started expanding the map around the Cave and along the river.

I’m right by the river, but I don’t have fishing rods or nets, and can only eat my mushrooms while looking at the delicious fish. It will be troubling if I run into the naughty kids upstream. I can’t imagine anything good will come from meeting them, but I can think of plenty of bad points.

They are naughty kids who can’t even fight properly, and are just a noisy bunch. These types of people getting Skills is the worst thing that can happen. Just like the mob delinquents who gets cocky when they get hold of a handgun and misfires.

I will occasionally encounter Mr Goblin in the forest, who I will beat to death before continuing to explore the forest.

I’m actually clubbing people to death with a stick after getting summoned to this Different World of Sword and Sorcery, is this the mystery drama that airs on tuesdays? I have to be wary about being chased to a cliff, where I might confess to the crime after being forced to the edge. By the way, if the perpetrator doesn't confess, there will only be circumstantial evidence, right? Yup, the problem lies with the cliff.

As usual, there are only mushrooms. When I appraise them, there are many types, but they are still mushrooms. There are HP recovery, MP recovery and all sorts of effects, but nothing major though. I can throw a fireball by myself, so no biggie.

The poisonous looking mushroom actually cures poisons, is this a trap in the Different World? When someone without appraise gets poisoned, they will never eat the poisonous looking mushroom.

After walking quite some distance, it seems that the Goblins upstream has lower levels. When I encounter Goblins below level 10, I just need to quick attack repeatedly. Woah, it’s scary how quickly I got used to this! There are many of them, so I attack them consecutively. It’s not stressful, but repeated battles drains me mentally . It’s still early, but let’s head back. What a miserable day, my level didn’t go up. I will get lectured if I ask people not to Sage me, so let’s go back.
<TL: Sage is short for Sageru, a function to make a forum thread die quicker without bumping it. https://www.reddit.com/r/OutOfTheLoop/comments/1vu2hb/what_is_sage/ >

Sigh~ chain lightning, flame spell, magic sword and beautiful female companions, there aren’t any exciting elements at all. Besides, this should start with a beautiful goddess! And the Princess summoner! Not just the pretty girls in class, I got separated from the entire class. I don’t have any Cheat either, this game is too hard!

When I return to the Cave, it is almost evening. My MP is still full, so I practice Magic and use the chance to renovate my place too. I also made a mushroom meal, what a homeliving lifestyle in a Different world.

Oh no, I’m talking to myself even more now, pretending to be retarded and retorting myself. If this goes on, I will start continuing my own memes.

「I’m not asking for a Cheat...」

I complained as I checked my stats… Thanks to my house chores, my Earth Magic levelled up.

Someone once said 「It's when you give up that the match is over」, but in my case, the match named ‘give up’ has started. Or the match gave up on me before it ended, it’s already over.
<TL: Quote by legendary basketball coach Anzai Mitsuyoshi (安西光義)>

I can’t escape from my daily life of killing Goblins and have a huge stock of clubs. Can I barter my clubs for fish? Sigh, I want to eat fish.

🞛 Half of the Story is Pain and Hatred, There’s No Warmth in it

Day 7 Cave

My home has a perfect noise cancelling system, since it’s a Cave. To be safe, I will switch on Sense Presence and Detect Enemy when I’m sleeping. I just think of it as ‘On’, but it seems to work?

I can’t sleep because my Sense Presence alerts me to the disturbance in the forest. I exit the Cave to tell them to get lost. But it’s the middle of the night, are they gangsters? Should I fake a police siren noise in the woods?

Using Farsight, I searched for the culprit disturbing my sleep, and found Geeks and Goblins, both of which I’m familiar with.

Sigh~ so the Geeks are making a racket. Really now, what’s with High Schoolers nowadays, are they having a party with the Goblins? I need to give them a good scolding.

「Pull away first!」「I will hold them off.」「Recovered your MP yet?」「You are out too?」

「「「「Cheeee!」」」」「Johj.」「Guuuh.」「Screech!」

They sure are noisy.

The Geek foursome in my class aren’t bad guys, or rather, they are the ones being bullied. I wanted to tell them off for being noisy, but unlike me, they must have gotten the Cheat Skills, since they are the experts.

There are also stories about bullied kids taking revenge in the Different World. I didn’t bully them, and they even recommended books to me… That book was interesting, should I help them?

I activated Appraise and went closer. There are still 5 Lv 13~15 Goblins.

Huh, they don’t need help, right? The Geeks are Lv 16, and their Jobs are Guardian, Ninja, Saint and Mage. How cool~ Why am I the only one without a Job!

The Guardian used his tall shield and spear to keep the enemy at bay, the Ninja used hit and run, and the Saint and Mage cast magic from behind… It was clear what their plan was, but the Guardian can’t fend off that many enemies. The Ninja’s movement seems weird, he is probably injured. There are no magic attacks or healing from behind, they probably ran out of MP. That’s why they are attacking with a spear and mace instead.

But even so, they should be able to win easily with their Lv 16 stats. Even a Lv 3 like me can win, could it be fatigue? Well, one of them is fat.

「Okay, I got one shot!」「Round up the Goblins!」「Got it.」「Rock Spear!」

Oh, they finally took out three. It’s tense watching others fight.

「Good, two left, surround them.」「「「Right!」」」

What should I do? I thought it would be fine, but this looks bad. They are out of MP, the Guardian is covered in wounds… And there are two more creeping up on them from behind.

They didn’t notice that the Goblin is about to back attack them.

What a mess, are they panicking because they are fighting a larger group than usual? But the rewards are the same, right?

Really now, the four of them are Lv 16 with the jobs of Mage, Saint, Guardian and Ninja. Why is a Jobless Lv 3 like me saving them? If they are above Lv 10, then they can wipe out the Goblins alone, right? Tch, it can’t be helped.

「Stick attack! Calm down.」

I used the momentum of my sprint to jump, and knocked the two Goblins down.

「「「What? Ehh─! Why? Huh, Haruka-kun?」」」

「Erm, keep calm and carry on.?」
<TL: some pun about ‘stay calm’ here>

Aside from one of them, the rest are still in shock? And that guy is really casual about it, although he said that as a question.

It can’t be helped, I know these people, I will feel bad if they die or get hurt before me. I know them, but that’s only on the level of them promoting their light novels to me out of the blue when I was reading in class.

While the Geeks were being noisy, I defeated two Goblins with my stick, specifically, I hit them with all my might at the back of their heads.

Two left. The Goblins turned to me with a 「Guuughh」. I don’t know what they are saying, but they are definitely not wishing me a pleasant morning. Goblin speech is too hard for me.

I don’t want to show too much of my power and without depending on the Geeks’ backup either.

As I was thinking about what I should do, the Goblins charged at me with their clubs raised high. Mr Goblin… this move again? I easily dispatch them with a flurry of stick attacks. By the way, this move is called 「Beating the club and the Goblin’s skull violently to death」, kids, don’t do this at home.

「Hey─ Geek Squad, still alive~?」

I called out to them, but...

「「「......」」」「...Yeah, still alive and kicking.」

Hmm~ again, aside from one person, the others are still shocked. The one speaking is really amazing, how come I can understand what he is saying? C-Could this be a Skill from the Different World?

「There’re plenty of things I want to ask, but thank you for saving us.」「「「Thanks~」」」

They have finally restarted their brains. It seems so long since I last spoke with another person, but that must be my imagination. In my old world, I often spend the entire day without… speaking...

What should I do now? I rescued them, but I don’t know what they will do.

「Hmm, he seems to be on guard?」「Huh, on guard?」「Why, are there monsters?」「Ehh─ a Battle Royale?」
<TL: Raw says Death Game, a genre like Battle Royale.>

Ohh, he’s quick on the uptake. Well, he’s the one who lent me that book.

「Sorry, this is a Different World after all.」

This might leave a bad impression, but I can’t be a naive idiot here. After all, Skills are dangerous things, which makes the existence of harmless Skills like 『Health』 and 『Walking』 strange. They are actually harmful to me!

Of the grey out Skills that have been taken, there is an ominous Skill called 『Puppetry』, that’s definitely bad news. It’s somewhat similar to my 『Blockhead』 can we switch?

The Geeks looked at each other, then put down their weapons, shields and luggage. Oh, they are disarming? That’s great~ as for me, I only have a stick… Well, it’s not important.

「No, you don’t need to go that far, that’s too careless in the forest.」

I said and made them pick up their stuff.

「Is that fine?」「I think it is?」「That’s all?」「We are in your care.」

Hey, there’s an adult mixed inside! What’s your Profession? Rampage Shogen? Are you going to Samba? I then questioned them while they were picking their things up.
<TL: Matsudaira Ken (松平健), actor who portrayed Rampage Shogen (暴れん坊) and release a series of Samba albums. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZwqMgFudK4 >

「Where are the rest? Are you the only ones exploring at night?」

The four of them answered with sorrowful faces:

「We left them behind…?」「Or we separated from them...」「Farewell...」「We are running away!」「「「... Running away.」」」

Huh, they were bullied in school, and it’s still the same in the Different World?

I brought the four injured guys back to my Cave. They are covered in wounds, so I splash a sort of potion mixture made with mushrooms and herbs on them. This is an experiment, and it smells of mushrooms.

「Uwah, what a stylish Cave!」「You made this by yourself?」「We have been living in tents for a week.」「A country lifestyle?」

How noisy, for a 『Loner』 saying ‘by yourself’ is taboo. And this isn’t a countryside, but the remote outbacks.

The Cave looks great now, the ground was uneven before, but I flattened the ground and the walls with the Package Spell. I even got  『Earth Magic Lv 1』 for my efforts. I used the chance to renovate it, and it’s 30 tatami wide now. I thought my Earth Magic would level up, but my 『Shut-in』 and 『Loner』 rose to Lv 2 instead… What the hell.

「A modern warehouse?」「You are living in such a huge place by yourself?」「The four of us squeezed in a tiny tent...」「SOHO? A loft?」「「「That’s too sly!」」」

The Geeks are too noisy, so I offered them my precious strange colored fruit juice to shut them up.

「「「「Tasty!」」」」「So there are sweet berries, huh~」

The Geeks are really happy. I asked them what they have been doing in the forest for the past week.

Uwah~ this is heavy. Their story made me want to retort 「Are you all retarded?」 No, not the Geeks, but most of the other people.

It’s a long story. Half of the story is pain and hatred and there’s no warmth in it.

Aside from me, the entire class got transported to the forest. All 42 of them in class were there, so many~ I don’t even remember my classmate’s names yet.

Everyone heard the explanation from God (the old man), but still fell into confusion. This is normal, the naughty kids and the mean gals were especially chaotic. If you try to stop them, they will even attack you out of spite, while the wilful mean gals yelled 「We don’t care and won’t do anything, figure it out yourselves.」

The normal girls started crying, while the sports guys huddled up to discuss amongst themselves and ignored others. The normal guys were basically like air.

Only the Monitress tried to unite everyone, but the forest was still a mess.

By the way, the Geeks were left alone, where they shared their stats and information, and checked each others’ Skills, equipment and spells. They are really dense.

As the group made a scene in the forest, the noise attracted monsters. Goblin came from all over the forest, and the reliable Monitress froze. She tried really hard, but has reached her limits.

The girls cried even more. No, the monsters are here, so can you stay quiet?

The Mean Gals said noisily 「You boys do something.」

The naughty kids gang were swinging their swords and casting their spells, making a scene, but turned docile when they saw the monsters. Those retards, what the hell were they doing!?

The normal boys were just air...

In the chaos, the Geeks who had adapted surprisingly well to this Different World quietly fended off the Goblins. The Sporty boys joined the fray soon after and the day was won. But everyone was still making a ruckus. Fortunately, the Monitress revived and said threateningly 「This place is dangerous!」 and moved everyone to the river bank where they had a clear view of the surroundings.

During this time, the Geeks took the initiative to forage for food and firewood, then set up camp by the riverbank.

More than half of the group didn’t do anything and was even dragging the group down, it was a surprise they made it out safely.

In the evening, everyone was tired or realized what trouble being too noisy might bring, and stayed quietly within their own cliques. The Geeks started bonfires around the campsite, set up tents, and distributed the food and preserved rations to everyone for dinner.

It seems these guys have been practicing outdoor survival in case they got summoned to a Different World. Do I call them stupid, or compliment them?

And so, the Monitress tried to lead the class, and the normal boys and girls finally helped with the preparations and set up tents under the tutelage of the Geeks. The Geeks then acted by themselves as if that was normal. No wonder they got ostracized, they can’t read the mood at all.

The Mage used Earth Magic and Outdoor Survival Skills to make a fence, dig a moat and lay traps; the Ninja scout out the area and set up early detection alarms, and assassinate any Goblin he encounters; the Saint use healing Magic to heal wounds and tend to people not feeling well; the Guardian patrolled the area and kept the bonfire burning, silently killing any Goblins that comes near. Just what kind of creature are the Geeks?

Thankfully, the Goblins around them were Lv 1~5 mobs, so everyone settled down and started discussions.

They divided the jobs, rotate the night watch, discuss what to do next, assess the food supply… The Monitress proposes something, seeks the opinion and advice of the Geeks, then persuades the hesitant people to make each decision. The next time I see her, I will call her Monitress-sama.

But there were still problems, the naughty kids and Mean Gals.

The Mean Gals caused the problems first, complaining when they were asked to set their own tents. Even though the Monitress said she would help, they wouldn’t listen. 「That’s the boy’s job.」「I don’t want to be here.」「Dinner taste awful, redo it.」「Settle the problem for me.」 etc, etc...

And then, the naughty kids also refused to work, asking the Geeks to do everything. Whatever the Monitress said only made them more fierce, they even threatened the people around them.

The meeting was growing tense.

After getting summoned to a Different World out of the blue, encountering monsters they have never seen before, almost getting killed, killing them instead and facing death for the first time. Second Year High Schoolers who could only yell idiotically.

Even the natural born Monitress couldn’t do it. She knew that organizing the class under such conditions was impossible. She might be the Monitress, but the situation was beyond that of a 16 years old girl.

「...Forget it.」

Monitress turned quiet after lowering her head and saying that, and the meeting fell apart.

No decision was made, no one understood the situation. What should they do, what shouldn’t they do. The sharing of means, methods and knowledge of surviving wasn’t done.

The students that were united complained 「They are not doing anything, so why should we?」.

Without rules, they weren’t even a group.

They had 42 people with Cheats there. Under the leadership of the Monitress and the Geeks who knew about Skills and Different Worlds, they could fight and survive in this world where monsters roamed.

They were a formidable force even though their levels were low. Not understanding their advantage and without the knowledge on fighting monsters and the Different world, they devolved into a group that only knew how to scream.

Uniting─ The steadiest and safest way to survive had failed.

It was hopeless when the Monitress gave up on uniting the class. But of course, it wasn’t her fault.

There might still be hope if the Geeks spoke up for the Monitress, but that was impossible for them.

They have no communication skills, since they are Geeks.

Even so, they still quietly protect, battle and share, even though it was meaningless.

「The story is too heavy! And it’s so long. So you ran away?」

I want to interrupt the Geeks’ heavy topic as they complained, cursed and told me their unhappiness.

I also served the recommended dish 「Different World Mushroom palette with mysterious vegetables」.

「All that happened on the first day, we ran away because of the problem that came up later...」

「It was tough, that was a really terrible time.」

「No, we didn’t run off at the start, and you have been calling us Geeks, Geeks, Geeks, you should know our names! We are classmates!」

「The mushroom taste great!」

The heavy topic continued, there should be a light heartening event later… As if.

「Aren’t your name Geeks? Geek A, B, C, D, the Goblins are Goblin A and B too.」

I don’t get what the problem is.

「No, that’s not a name, but what the race is called.」

「Stop it! What will I do if my Status screen shows Geek A?」

「You are treating us like monsters!?」

「Huh!? You guys aren’t Geek A, B, C!?」

「「「Et tu, Brute!?」」」

An unexpected top 10 anime betrayal from Geek D! As expected, there are no happy endings.

「Enough with the jokes, Haruka-kun also got transported here?」

I wasn’t kidding, but let’s leave that aside for now.

「I was summoned too. It took some time for me to reach, and nobody was there when I arrived.」

That’s how I got the 『Loner』 title.

「I thought Haruka-kun escaped, you showed such an exemplary escape move.」

「「「That was awesome!」」」

Huhh? They saw that?

「Back then, the classroom turned dark, and the magic circle on the floor was getting brighter, and we got tossed into the white room! You actually saw what I was doing in such a situation, aren’t you too calm!?」

「Well, I was thinking 『Oh~ a summon to a Different world』, and you ran from the center of the classroom to the backdoor, flung a chair at the window, then jumped up the cabinet before disappearing into the ceiling. Anyone would be surprised.」

Uwah, they did see me!

「Normal people will be shocked by the Different World summon, right? During such Different world stories, aren’t there scenes similar to what i did too? I tried to replicate that. You should know since you read such stories, but I didn’t.」

「No no, I have seen plenty of Different World summon manga and anime, but this is the first time I saw someone escape through the ceiling!」「Yes, I never thought of such a move...」「Normally, people will give up after trying the door and windows.」「You were just like a Ninja.」

No, you are the Ninja, that’s your Job.

We chatted about all that and I let them take turns to bathe and nap. They talk about what happened after the first day, exchange information and future plans─ they really have it hard after that.

In the end, only the Geeks foraged for food, fortified the camp site and fought the monsters. The Monitress and some of the students did help, but they couldn’t keep up with the four of them. The retards didn’t help and only complained, and even said 「Bring more food」, 「The tent is small」, 「Boring」. If you are bored, then go work! I’m working so hard but I’m still a 『NEET』.

The Geeks worked hard to raise their levels. Aside from unavoidable battles, they were wary of the 『Puppetry』 and 『Fascination』 Skills they saw in the white room. These two Skills were picked by someone.

Their options were to raise their levels to resist, get a resistance Skill, or find that person and seal that Skill.

Skill points are needed to select high class Skills. My Skills don’t need points, so they are not high class Skills… I already knew that.

They raised their Appraise Level and searched for the person with 『Puppetry』 and 『Fascination』. It was clear they chose these Skills intentionally. It wasn’t clear if inactive Skills couldn’t be appraised, or their Appraise level is too low, they couldn’t find that person after checking everyone’s Status. Maybe it was hidden, so they just needed to out level them more, then they could see.

「I was definitely the last to choose the Skills, there wasn’t any powerful Skills left, only the pathetic ones and those akin to punishment game.」

And that old man pushed all the punishment games onto me.

「We also checked the Skill lists, it was already taken back then.」

「「The punishment game is harsh! You will get stuck in the game with just one of them.」」

These guys probably skipped the old man’s explanation and jumped straight into checking the Skills.

Which means, someone chose 『Puppetry』 and 『Fascination』 right after entering the white room.  Since he was aiming for these two Skills, was he trying to be a tyrant or forcefully gather a harem…? Maybe both. And don’t remind me! I got several Skills that will get me stuck in the game, and I got another one after that too!

「I’m done with the bath. But really, a clawfoot tub?」

「A bathtub without beautiful slave girls is just a tub...」

「Yes, it’s a tub. Just go in and drown yourself!」

The Geeks then took turns sleeping and telling me what happened next. What a long story, I want to sleep!

🞛 Is Touching Okay? Or Not? That’s the question

Day 8 Cave

We had breakfast and continued the heavy conversation that will give anyone indigestion. After omitting the complaints, curses and hatred, the story is much simpler, but to the Geeks, that is the important part.

Summoned to a Different World, fighting monsters and surviving outdoors. But to them, the whole week was mostly about them scolding their classmates, so it will be fine to remove the Different World element, right?

The Geeks cursed as they ate breakfast… so this story is still ongoing. And of course, breakfast is mushrooms.

「After we told them that high class Skills can only be activated after accumulating enough SP...」

「From the 3rd day, those guys suddenly ran off to raise their levels.」

「That’s right, they only pick on the weak Goblins nearby.」

「They stay close to the camp and kill the mob in relative safety, just like a RPG.」

Oh, I can see who the culprit is, there’s no need for any detective work. There’s no need to name drop my grandfather.
<TL: The protagonist of ‘The Kindaichi Case Files’ always mentions his grandfather when solving cases, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kindaichi_Case_Files >

「It’s those guys, huh, always up to no good.」

The Ninja erased his presence and stalked them. There’s no joy in stalking guys, if he is happy about it, then he’s beyond saving in all sorts of ways.

The naughty kids weren’t aware that someone was eavesdropping, and talked about how they will allocate the girls after brainwashing them, and other lewd stuff. Are you guys corrupt merchants in a period drama? Why did you spill it all out just when others are eavesdropping on you? You want to build a harem by force? Why do delinquents who are always mocking Geeks even know that? Well, they are not real delinquents… They couldn’t have learned it earlier, did they get that information after getting here?
<TL: raw says Echigoya, evil merchants in old stories.>

And of course, the Geeks took countermeasures. They told the Monitress about the effects and danger of 『Puppetry』 and 『Fascination』, as well as what the naughty kids talked about, and that the skills could be sealed if it was found. Monitress also braced herself and actively raised her level. By the way, the Monitress seems to be a Cheat character.

With a plan in mind, they worked on their level and got ready.

On the 5th day, 『Puppetry』 was finally activated. In order to accumulate Skill Points, they farmed Lv 1 and 2 Goblins one by one by one by one until they reached level 15. Was the Ninja watching them touched by this scene? The naughty kids showed determination and resolve, saving the last hit for the owners of the 『Fascination』 and 『Puppetry』, working hard and improving themselves honestly day by day.

On that day, they kept yelling 「I will build a harem when I go back!」, 「Hold an orgy~!」, as they farmed Lv 1 Goblins until 『Fascination』 appeared. With how earnest they are, should I take away the 「naughty」 and just call them kids? They aren’t suited to be delinquents anyway.

Right at that moment, the most beautiful girl in school, the Monitress, appeared in the forest alone. Back then, the smile on those kids were as off putting as carrion flowers. The 6 of them smiled sinisterly at each other and then approached the Monitress...

All of them then fell over with a paralysis on their Status. Rest in Peace? Just who the hell is the Monitress-sama!? Huh, it involves her privacy, so she can’t tell us?

The Geeks used this chance to cast 『Seal』 on the two Skill users. Who used Seal was kept a secret even from the Monitress, since those kids would retaliate against the Seal users if they found out.

They tied up those kids and dragged them back to camp, revealing their scheme to use Fascination and Puppetry to carry out their Harem Instrumentality Project. The kids were trembling in fear from the enraged female students army, but still demanded the Geeks to release the Seal. Naturally, this antagonized themselves even further. The male students who learned that the kids intend to enslave them joined the torrent of admonishment, making the kids quiver from the blood lust. Everyone arrived at the consensus to exile the kids from the Camp. The Geeks then heard the live version of 「I will make you pay」, I’m envious. And so, all’s well that ends well─ Not.
<TL: https://evangelion.fandom.com/wiki/Human_Instrumentality_Project>

That night, when the four Geeks were resting in their tents, and slept after a short discussion.

The first to notice that something was wrong was the Ninja. The tent was surrounded by 6 people from afar. If the monsters attacked them, the Mage’s detection barrier would react, which means the enemy was human. Those kids couldn’t have passed through the fences and traps, so the guards let them in, but why?

「Damn Geeks! Get out here! No weapons, and hurry it up!」

Angry yells came from outside and the tents caught on fire. The four of them rushed outside, and the Guardian was hit by a volley of spells the moment he deployed his barrier. The Saint reinforced the barrier with light magic, and the Ninja used the ninja flash to obscure the enemies’ vision. The Mage fired consecutive air bullets to suppress them.

This was the plan they decided on inside the tent, but the surprise attack and encirclement still put them at a disadvantage.

While the Geeks were using weaker spells like air bullet and water whip, their opponents used lethal spells like fireball and explosion. It was getting dangerous, and the people around them only watched without helping. The barrier wouldn’t last much longer, and their option would be to attack to kill. However, the Geeks were hesitant to make that decision.

At this moment, the Monitress’ group who were patrolling came back, and cast support spells from afar. When the kids ran away, no one tried to stop them.

「We will kill you next time!!」

They yelled as they ran. When the Monitress and others arrived, the camp was on fire, and many people got hurt from ricochets and the fire. The spare food they collected were all burned

The boy on guard duty was threatened by the kids who say 「We are here just to talk, don’t get in the way」 and quietly let them through.

If the Geeks were targeted, they wouldn’t be able to move separately. They would need to rebuild the camp’s defenses, forage more food and guard themselves. They would need to be on guard when they sleep, and couldn’t move freely.

They put out the fire while injured, healed the wounded, and salvaged usable tents from the debris and set it up again─ all this time, everyone was lashing out at them.

「It’s all your fault.」「It’s all because you confronted them.」「Take responsibility.」

Even when they heal others, they would get kicked with a 「it’s all your fault」; when they put out the fire, they would get stoned 「How are you going to compensate me」; When they set up the tent again, they got beaten 「You guys are too cocky」; When they are on sentry, they would hear curses from behind, someone even spat at them.

Without any allies, the Geeks’ options were to flee or kill.

It’s impossible for the four of them to protect themselves 24 hours a day, they will be killed one day if they only fend off their assailants. If they divide the tasks amongst themselves like they used to do, they would be marked when they move alone.

They would get picked off one by one if they stayed, so they had to either kill the assailants, or flee.

The Monitress and her entourage tried to persuade everyone, listing the bad points if the Geeks leave, and wants everyone to protect the Geeks and take shifts to forage for food. Fighting those kids and monsters was inevitable, so they need to raise their levels too; What will happen if the Geeks are killed; That things were different from the past, and they had to assist and learn from the Geeks to survive.

However, the group didn’t change their mind. Fighting was scary, they don’t want to harm others, and don’t want to get hurt; if they were more forceful, the Geeks would listen to them, and they had the advantage in numbers. They were still treating the Geeks like how they did back in school, as Gofers and someone to vent their anger on.

If they could at least say 「please」, then dialogue would be possible, but they couldn’t do it. If they begged the Geeks, a compromise might still be possible, but that was even more impossible for them. In that case, they could simply live on pride. So the four Geeks escaped, pursued by the fake delinquents without receiving any help from their classmates.

After ending the heavy discussion, we had a late lunch, which are mushrooms of course. We then talked about the White Room and exchanged all sorts of information. I immediately learned 『Hide』, so I gave them fruit juice in return. I mentioned that my only Martial Arts is Staff Wielding, and they told me about a famous Staff fighting style called  Shindō Musō-ryū, so I stuffed mushrooms into their backpacks to return the favor.
<神道夢想流杖術: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shint%C5%8D_Mus%C5%8D-ry%C5%AB, a martial arts style for staff. It has a grandiose name meaning ‘God’s path dream-like’>

We chatted the night away, just how long ago did I last spoke so much? More than a month and two, so the problem isn’t just from my 『Loner Lv2』.

We had a late dinner. I heard you will become cows if you sleep right after eating, but the Geeks don’t mind. Maybe the Geeks evolved from cows. I will feed them mushrooms day and night, and raise them like cows. Dona dona ♪.
<TL: The cow thing is a Japanese myth, Dona dona is the song about a cattle being sent to the slaughterhouse https://youtu.be/ay9I9NugHN4?t=56>

After their bath, the Geeks made their preparations for the journey before they slept.

「We are planning to go to town, want to join us?」

They are recruiting me, are they going to hard sell me a pot of happiness?
<TL:  幸せの壺, sold by scam cults>

「I’m sorry, but I’m an atheist.」 I averted my eyes and gave the perfect model answer.

「No, it has nothing to do with religion!」 How persistent~

「I don’t have a TV at home, no thanks.」 How about that, the Final Answer.

「We are not the NHK either, it will be scary if you really have a TV in the Different World!!」
<TL: In Japan, any person who owns a TV that can receive signals have to pay a monthly fee to NHK, the national broadcasting company.>

What! That didn’t work!?

Forget it, if they are seriously inviting me, then it will be rude to joke about it again.

「To be frank, I can’t become an adventurer. With my Skills, I just want to live an easy life around here. Thank you for inviting me.」

My cursed Status will only hold them back. And I can’t ask them to stay since they’re so excited about visiting town. Did they forget that there are people after their lives? Becoming an Adventurer in town is a cliche and natural development, but you will need to pay for food and lodging in town, and you will need to be capable of fighting strong monsters to earn money. Rent is free in this Cave, I can forage for food myself, and there are only weak Goblins around here, so it’s safe. I will need to sacrifice my quality of life in exchange, but the forest is safer. I don’t know how the security in town is, but as an outsider, I’m still worried.

「You are in a Different World and you don’t want to be an Adventurer? What are you saying!?」

「Let’s go together, there’s power in numbers, big brother!」
<戦いは数だよ兄貴: Gundam meme of Dozle Zabi saying “War is won with numbers, big brother!”>

「You can definitely become an Adventurer too, weapons embedded with Skills should be sold in town.」

「There are lots of young girls in town, you know!」

Who's your big brother? I know you think highly of me, but I’m different from you people who have Cheats. What’s wrong with being a Shut-in, NEET and Loner? Although that sounds pretty bad.

And what is that about young girls? You are just 16, you think you are an old man? No, wait! How young are the girls he had in mind? Hello, is this the police?

「No. I only have trash Skills, and my titles will hold you back… And I only know Earth Magic~」

I also know Fire Magic, but that’s a secret.

「It will be fine, you can already defeat the powerful monsters around here...」

「Just getting transported here makes you stronger, even if your Skills are difficult to use, if you raise your level...」

「You can renovate the town with Earth Magic, and help the landlord with your modern knowledge and technology to enhance developments...」

「You can sell this stone furniture, with the standards of the Middle Ages, you can create a company...」

「Since you know Staff Wielding, you can try using a quarterstaff...」

「Maybe a three-section staff?」

「You can make a wall with Earth Magic and say ‘Take Aim’...」
<狙い撃つぜ: Line from Lockon Stratos from Gundam 00>

「Your health is important too, there’s no clinics here.」

The amount of knowledge from the four Geeks is overwhelming.

If they weren’t there, the 42 High Schoolers wouldn’t survive in the forest filled with monsters, and would get wiped out. They had such a tough life back in school, but they still foraged 42 portions of food, and taught everyone how to use their Skills, they really are good people.

「Towns are usually situated by the river, we just have to follow it downstream...」

「There must be an Elf village deep in the forest...」

「No, if its beastman, they will be in the forest...」

「We need to get to a high ground and draw a map...」

I can learn things just by listening to them… Right?

「No, a slave is fine too, a beautiful girl slave.」

「There must be an aristocratic lady being chased by bandits, waiting for me to save her!」

「Is touching Okay? Or not? That’s the question...」
<TL: referring to ‘Yes lolita No touch’ (Yes ロリータ No タッチ)>

「Speaking of towns, it has to be the poster girl in taverns!」

「「「「No no no, chatter chatter!」」」」

......

「As I thought, the only choice is fluffy animal ears!」

「A lewd elf attacked by tentacles must be waiting for me!」

「Dwarf girls must be petite and cute!」

「I will only accept ’Ugh, just kill me’ girls.」
<くっ殺: A trope in Japan about female knights always getting captured by orcs and subjected to NSFW stuff. They will always resist at the start with  “Ugh, just kill me.”>

「「「「That’s why, chatter chatter!」」」」

Enough, time to chase them away.

🞛 It Can’t Be Helped If It Relapses!

Day 9 Cave

So after a passionate night… As If! Sigh, I’m so sleepy,

「Well, it’s gotten bright outside, time to go.」

I stuffed one of the Geeks’ backpack full of mushrooms as thanks for the information, that should last them 10 days. He is stumbling a little under the weight, but don’t mind that. Time for them to return to the forest, although their goal is to visit town.

「Don’t get hunted by our classmates and farewell, shoo.」

「What’s with the shoo… Thank you for your hospitality.」

「「「Are you really not coming?」」」

What an annoying bunch, I might follow you if you are girls though. We are talking about High School girls, you know.

「I refuse!」 I said with a JoJo stance.

「「「「You keep calling us Geeks, but you are definitely one of us!」」」」

「How rude. I do read manga and anime, but I won’t say things like 『Moe』!」
<TL: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moe_(slang)>

I don’t get what they are saying.

「No, I don’t say that.」「That’s right, that term is rarely used.」

「I will only use it occasionally.」「I only use it on 2D characters!」

The Geeks refuted at the same time, they sure are noisy right to the end. That last guy is too far gone and beyond saving. Good luck Moe fascist?

「Thanks for your help, I hope we meet again.」

「You saved us, so hurry on to town so we can return the favor.」

「Or rather, you will turn into a barbarian if you don’t come to town soon.」「...Thanks.」

You are telling me to hurry to town, but you haven’t even found one yet. And I won’t turn into a barbarian! Because I’m a Shut-in.

「Bon voyage, bye.」

「「「「We are off then─」」」」

And so, the Geeks set out on a journey to a Different World town, I’m sure if there is one though.

「Phew─」

I chewed on the bland tasting jerky and headed deep into the forest. They advised me to use physical attacks after raising my level, so I’m searching for Goblins. Experience wise, Kobold or Orc might be better, but these monsters are also stronger. I will search for Goblins, and think of something when I encounter Kobolds or Orcs. I can’t formulate a plan without trying it first, and I need to earn experience points before that. In the end, even the Geeks couldn’t 『Seal』 my negative Skills, so fighting monsters is my only hope.

When I see a Goblin, I will 「Hya─!」.

Another Goblin, and I go 「Wataa─!!」.

Huh, am I the bad guy here? Oh no, what if I get the punk mob title!? No, it will be fine. The Geeks said the Goblins around the Cave are strong… But their level is between 10~15, with Skills like 『Hammer Wielding』, 『Power hit』 and 『Ramming』, aren’t they just small fries?
<TL: raws says Mohikan, mob villains from Fist of the North Star>

The Geeks probably had a hard time because they depleted their mana, and got so scared. Even though they have Cheats and are level 16, those poor Geeks.

They are bullied kids and bad at sports, so there’s a mismatch between their level and their capabilities?

Hmm~? There’s something there, oh! I heard their features are blue dog-like creatures with a slender build.

It’s easy to tell that they are Kobolds, let’s activate Appraise.

They are stronger than Goblins, and three times faster, can I beat them? No, there’s another Level 10 Kobold, taking on both of them will be bad. I decided to leave, but lock gaze with it. Hey, don’t look my way, oh, they have the Sense Presence Skill! Uwah, they are fast. They aren’t charging right at me? Damn it, they are coordinating with each other, trying to flank me. One of them approached me from behind.

「Gyafuuun!」

Good, I took out one with my counterattack. I’m also keeping my guard up with Sense Presence, then concentrating to make the most of this opportunity. I never thought I would hear Gyafuuun being used in real life… Uwah!?

「That’s dangerous...」

That didn’t catch me off guard, it’s just that my enemy is too quick, biting me in an instant. I parried the stick poking my way, and the Kobold bit my other hand. If I didn’t defend with my left hand, he would have gotten my head… and bite my head off?
<マルカジリ: A line spoken by the devils in the Megami Tensei series>

「Guwah… Ugh… That hurts─!」

The Kobold dragged me to the ground by the arm, oh no. I want to thrust my stick, but isn’t far enough away, and I can’t swing the stick with enough momentum because of my posture,

My hand hurts, and he is scratching my body with his claws, which hurts even more, damn it! I focused, wrapping more mana onto my 『stick?』, made it heavier with 『Weighing Scale』 and reinforced it with 『Package』. I whacked down with a motion similar to hammering a nail. Hah! (Crack!)

「Uwah!?」

I hit the dog’s head… Disgusting. It’s head cracked the moment I hit it. I thought I was going to die.

After I finally calmed down, I thought about taking revenge, and dug out a Mana Stone from the carcass and appraised it. 『Mana Stone F Class』, the Kobold is strong, but its Mana Stone is on the same level as a Goblin? What a rip off!

This thing could be exchanged for money in town, but if the money is the same, then I should just hunt Goblins, is the guild in the Different World okay? But I don’t even know whether there are guilds in the first place. Ehh─! My HP isn’t doing too good, I reached Level 4, but my remaining HP is low.

HP: 7/50 MP: 9/47

Oh no, I can’t fight another battle like this. I conceal my presence and sneak back from the way I came, sneakily, sneakily. There’s something… It’s the Goblin-kun and friends.「Hyaaa─!」

「I’m home. Phew─」

Because I didn’t have enough sleep, I flopped onto my bed when I reached home. It’s made of stone, so that hurts.

I’m home, yes, before I knew it, this place is now my home. After the Geeks foursome left, this place that can easily fit way more than 5 people feels empty. But even so, this is still my home. I have plenty of things to think about today. First is the information from the Geeks. We talked about our classmates in the forest, but the main point is intel about the Different World. Their sources might be lightnovels, anime and games, but as expected of the Geeks, they have a solid grasp on the information.

On the other hand, their knowledge is useless if they don’t go to a Different World, so the Geeks should be happy right now. They are more energetic compared to school, and I never thought they would talk so much. Although most of their talk is complaints about their classmates...

I read some Transported to a Different World light novels, but I pale in comparison to the information that the Geeks possess. Our classmates were only using them as convenient gofers despite being ignorant and not understanding their Status and skills.

They just need to ask sincerely for the Geeks’ help, but they vent their frustration on the Geeks because the bottom caste Geeks were in the spotlight, how foolish. The Geeks fend off the monsters and forage for food for their classmates, and they are trying to use the hierarchy that was from their time in school to order them around. Incorrigible, no wonder they were abandoned.

And now, the useful Geeks ran away, and the students lost a dependable ally and source of information. They had it coming and are probably arguing about it now.

Speaking of which, the Geeks were carrying utility knives to be ready in case they got transported to a Different World, which really surprised me. All four of them have one! Yay, good for you.

And they told me about the Kobold, which is a real challenge! They are fast, will bite, and their claws are powerful. Huh? Wouldn’t Kobold be stronger without their sticks?

My cloth shirt isn’t torn, and my glove that got bitten is fine too. Both of them have a 「?」 on them. What a 「?」 mystery.

Right now, I can’t deal with too many Kobolds, this is the limit of my strategy of whacking things with a stick, should I use Staff Wielding? I can only practice and see what happens.

I have seen swordsmanship, practiced Kendo, and the TV showed people wielding spears and Naginata. But Staff Wielding… Even that really popular movie about a bespectacled young magician didn’t show him whacking people with his stick, right?
I thought about the fighting scenes in manga and anime, and mimicked the swinging of a sword and the thrust of a spear. I make up my own moves and fine tuned it, adjusting the movements and remembering it with my body.

「Phew──」

I’m exhausted, I got immersed in it before I realized it.

My impression of the Shindō Musō-ryū is that it’s very Middle School Syndrome-like. There’s stuff like 「Thrust like a spear, sweep like a naginata and slash like a sword」, so it can’t be helped if my Middle School Syndrome relapsed! I even thought of my signature pose. I will have to kill myself if someone sees that, but fortunately, I’m a Loner!
<TL: 突けば槍 払えば薙刀 持たば太刀, the motto of that style>

The floor got slippery from my sweat, so I ended the training session. It will be bad to leave the floor be. I’m tired but my MP has recovered, so I used the chance to clean up and do an experiment at the same time.

I got Earth Magic by using Package to stretch and flatten the uneven floor, then can I Package water and use it to wipe the floor clean?

I Package the water from the water flask I made and put it on the floor. Well─ I will keep the fact that using my hands is faster a secret. The water bundle moved around the floor, good work, romba! After wiping every spot, I took the dirty water outside and poured it away.

I checked my Status… Oh, I got 『Water Magic Lv1』. Good, the floor is clean now, but it’s a little humid, so I blow them out with wind! My goal is Wind Magic of course.

And I really obtained Wind Magic. But the Fire Magic, Earth Magic and Water Magic on my Status screen all disappeared, replaced by 『Four Elemental Magic Lv1』. Since it’s the four elementals, it must include wind.

I also obtained wood magic, probably when I used Mana Wrap on my stick. Other possible magics would be lightning, ice, heal and others. But how do I use Package on lightning?

I unintentionally used Mana Wrap on the Goblin’s club. (Crack!!)

Huh? It broke? Let me try with another club, slowly─ (Crack!)

「WHY! Goblin’s club!」

I have been using Mana Wrap on 『stick?』 so far and everything is fine, so why isn’t it working on the club? Maybe my magic got stronger, or the Goblin’s club is too fragile, or both.

I think I got a stick after defeating the Kobolds. Hmm, it doesn’t have a 「?」?

「Hah.」 (Crack!)

This one didn’t work either. When I used Mana Wrap on 『stick?』, instead of covering it, it felt more like the magic got sucked in. This is my only weapon, it will be bad if it breaks. But if I don’t test it now, it will be over if it breaks in battle. I slowly inject mana into 『stick?』, yes, that’s the sensation.

I slowly inject mana in, and it seems I can add even more. Slowly, don’t break it, little by little by little… Woah!

That feels weird, did I break it? I quickly appraised it, 『Staff of Tree?』... I can feel something pulsating, did it grow? Huh, it’s a living tree! There’s no problem with me using it, but is it really fine? But I can’t take it anymore. My mana is depleted and feels so sleepy… Alright, time for bed.
